National Night Out

Yesterday evening, the Dunn Crimestoppers held their 35th annual National Night Out event on Harnett Street in front of Harnett Primary. There was free food and a train to ride, among other events. Dunn PAL set up a tent for people to get information about the different programs we offer. Behind our tent, we set up cornhole boards for anyone who wanted to play. I helped the Dunn Crimestoppers run one of the two inflatables they had last night. At my station, I had to set up plastic balls so that the children could grab one of the bats to hit the ball to make it into one of the holes at the back of the inflatable.
The students from Dunn PAL danced with Ms. Lianne Solina from Solina Dance Studio to perform choreography we have been learning this week. One of our students, Nathan Williams, won a scholarship from Solina for the 2018-19 school year. After the dance performance, the karaoke competition began. Two students from PAL sung their hearts out in front of everyone who was there. Local radio station WCKB 780 AM had a bike raffle and a 50 50 raffle going on. At the end of the night, they announced the winners of the raffles and thanked everyone for coming out and having a good time. It was a very fun experience for everyone that I knew and I cannot wait for next year.
