Last Friday, the Youth Leadership Council voted for its new officers. Before the vote, the positions and their respective obligations are were announced so everyone knew what they would be running and voting for. This year’s voting was different from last year, when we each had to fill out a ballot. This year, it was an open vote where we said who we voted for in front of everyone. I personally liked this method better because then you are not confused and stuck wondering about who voted for who.
For President, I was nominated and re-elected by my peers. Kennisha Robinson was voted as my Vice President. Nick Williams earned the role of secretary and his brother, Nathan Williams, was voted in as the new reporter. Also, the new Sergeant in Arms is Ramsey Jones. Congratulations to everyone on getting these roles. I know this year will be a great one.
