First Year in Triton’s JROTC

This year, my sophomore year, I have in enrolled in ROTC and so far, this class is awesome. One thing I really love about this class is the energy it generates. As crazy as it sounds, the whole room gives me nothing but positive energy. Every day we are always laughing, singing, and having fun. This is the most interesting and interactive class I’ve ever been a part of.
To me, the only hard part of the class is mastering the uniform. On the days we wear uniform, our rank, tabs, and even our name-tag, has to be in a certain place on our uniforms. Getting through uniform inspections is the hardest part of the process to me, because the 1st Sergeant inspects us individually to see if we have our measurements correct, and to make sure we are looking sharp.
Just recently, we took a trip to the army base at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville for a bowling trip. This was a time to get out of the house, let go of our responsibilities and have fun with friends. I’m not the best bowler, but I didn’t mind getting a chance to get out of my room. We all had a great time, and not for even a second would I think about changing my classes!
