My PAL Experience

I came to PAL in 2013 after I found out about the program from a close friend. My first day went great because I met a lot of friends and usually I don’t like meeting other people. As time went by, I joined the PAL after-school program and they really helped me with all of my assignments in school. I started making good grades and passing my tests with B’s with a few A’s here and there.
The PAL’s Family and Youth Mentoring Coordinator, Stephanie Coxum, introduced me to Youth Leadership Council (YLC). In Youth Leadership, I really became a better person and I started volunteering at different events. Long after that, I became the Youth Leadership Secretary. I also became a mentor in the Reach One Mentoring Program. Til this day I call PAL my second home. PAL really changed me and I’m loving everything I’ve become involved with: helping the younger kids, Media Arts, YLC, volunteering, and most of all – helping my community. I want thank PAL for all they’ve done for me over the years.
