Dunn PAL Visits Historical Complex

Earlier today, several PAL students and staff members made a trip to downtown Fayetteville to visit the Cape Fear Historical Complex and Edgar Allen Poe House.

While there, the students were separated into two groups: middle and high, and elementary school. They were both given a tour of the sites while learning about the lives of Native Americans, slaves, colonists, and soldiers of the past that influenced the North Carolina region. The trip served as an educational opportunity during spring break and is the first of two such events, the second coming tomorrow morning at a transportation museum in Spencer, NC.
These opportunities also serve a smaller role as a preview of the upcoming summer camp offered to those students who are interested. The summer portion of the program is set to begin in June.
