Exam Week Tips

Exam week is coming up soon for many high school students in Harnett County. This means that students will be busy studying and reviewing so that they can pass their EOC’s, NCFE’s and classes. During this time, students tend to be more stressed out. This can lead to being unfocused which may not help with the finals. Everyone has different methods they use to study but I just want to say that it should not be overwhelming for the students. When it does get stressful, just take a deep breath or a little break and slow down some. If it helps, I would recommend have someone like a family member or friend help them study things such as vocabulary and key concepts.
During the exam week, make sure to get plenty of sleep and eat a good breakfast. I know that teachers and administrators say it repeatedly so it may just come off as unimportant, but it’s not. Everyday that I have an exam, I make sure I get at least eight hours of sleep, so that means shutting my phone off and going to bed early. When I wake up, I have a breakfast that will keep me energized and full throughout the exam period. This has actually helped improve my exam scores little by little. It may not work for everyone but it will help plenty of students in the long run.
