About 2 weeks ago, me and my fellow Triton High wrestling team captains Mike Carvin and Tyre Cameron competed at the NCWAY State Championship in Fayetteville. A month prior, we were already training and preparing ourselves mentally and physically to be able to out-do our opponents. The training was harsh, but like all competitive wrestlers, we pulled through the pain.
We all had tough matches that tested our will, our strength, and our passion for this sport. Some people give up once the going gets tough, but not us. We all ended up placing top three in our respective high school divisions. Mike Carvin took home the NCWAY championship, Tyre Cameron took home 3rd and I was runner-up to the NCWAY high school champion.
