Duke maintains its #2 ranking while North Carolina moves up to #9. State falls two spots to #23. They make up 3 of the total 7 ACC teams ranked this week.

The Blue Devils (17-2, 6-1) began last week with a solid 79-64 win at Pitt (12-8, 2-5). Then on Saturday, they played a surprisingly close game at home against Georgia Tech (11-9, 3-4). After trailing at halftime, Duke had to fight to regain the lead in a game where they shot 2-21 on 3-pointers. R.J. Barrett led the team with 24 points. Duke faces Notre Dame (11-9, 1-6) on the road tonight at 7. They will then host St. Johns (15-5) Saturday at 12 PM.

Carolina (15-4, 5-1) played just once last week, an impressive 103-82 home win against then-#10 Virginia Tech (15-3, 4-2) on Monday. Another top-10 win puts them at #9 this week. Coby White led the Tarheels with 27 points and 7 rebounds. They travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech tomorrow night at 7, then head to Louisville (15-5, 6-1) for a rematch with the Cardinals at 2 PM.

NC State (16-4, 4-3) lost yet another close game at Louisville on Thursday, 84-77. The Wolfpack then returned home Saturday to face Clemson (11-8, 1-5) and won in shocking fashion on a buzzer-beating 3 from Braxton Beverly to secure a 69-67 win. C.J. Bryce finished as the leading scorer with 15 points and 7 rebounds. They face a very tough #3 Virginia (18-1, 6-1) team at home on Tuesday and then host #12 Virgina Tech Saturday at 12 PM.

For a complete list of the week 13 men’s rankings, visit:
http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings

The week 13 top-25 in men’s college basketball was still kind to local area teams today.
